FEBRUARY 2010
IT’S TIME FOR SA’S BIGGEST RIDE-OUT: HARLEY-DAVIDSON® AFRICA BIKE WEEK™
Over 5 000 Harley-Davidson® motorcycle and other brand riders and 40 000 enthusiasts are set to invade the streets of Margate, KZN, from 24 to 27 April, for 2010 Harley-Davidson® Africa Bike Week™. The event is the biggest motorcycle ride-out in South Africa and provides an opportunity for all the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G. ®) members to meet and interact with riders as well as other H.O.G ® members from all over the world. The fun is open to all bikers in search of the ultimate South African bike adventure as well as family and friends - promising to be bigger, better and wilder than last year.
One of the main attractions on the 2010 Africa Bike Week™ calendar is the unique motorcycle mass ride out from Shelley Beach to Margate on Sunday 25 April, scheduled to kick off at 10:30am. Visitors can get up close and personal with the legendary Harley-Davidson® motorcycles whilst experiencing the sound and spectacle of thousands of bikes winding through the streets, in and around Margate.
There will be excellent vantage points in Margate and there are some major prizes to be won throughout the event for entrants and spectators. In the exciting days leading up to Africa Bike Week™, enthusiastic riders will depart from H.O.G. ® Chapters and other Harley-Davidson® clubs in all provinces. Riders have the option of touring directly to Margate or joining the other riders on route to the event.
This annual event guarantees extreme excitement for the whole family and participants arriving in Margate can look forward to a thrilling array of activities including the official Harley-Davidson® dealers, traders markets and live entertainment. The programme features live band performances, non-stop street parties, VIP lounges and bars, a ride-in bike show, stunt rides, demos and concludes in the mass ride out which will include a Parade of Flags. Exclusive Africa Bike Week™ and H.O.G. ® merchandise will also be on sale. Guests are encouraged to support the official Harley-Davidson® charity, the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa. For more information guests can visit the charity tents, which will be situated in the Harley-Davidson® area.
